Something happened. You are Damaged. So are they.

You are a Centroid: a small, bright, broken thing adrift in the Shattered Diagram. Every weapon you take becomes a ring around you. Every ring turns. And the order you take them in decides what you become.

Gilded Void is a liminal, nightmare-gilded survivors-like that shouldn't make sense, but does. Grow from one fragile ring into a blazing, rotating mandala of destruction. Grind the walls of impossible architecture with a horde at your heels. Face sovereigns that assemble themselves ring by ring and shatter as you break them, and guardians who should not be here at all.

  • 21 Weapon Rings, each with four forms. The order you take them shapes your build.
  • 18 Centroids, each with its own weapon and its own Conjunction.
  • 15 Bosses that each fight their own way.
  • 8 Stages, every one with a Hard Mode, plus Boss Rush and Rival Diagrams.
  • A Skill Tree of 43 nodes across three paths, and 17 passives to refine any build.
  • Grind the walls, crack open vaults and treasure spheres, and chase Achievements and a catalogue of every Concept you've ended.

Made by one person, on a potato, for the love of making things. Free.

FAQ

What is Gilded Void? A liminal, weird survivors-like that shouldn't make sense, but does. You're a damaged Centroid in the Shattered Diagram, and every weapon you take becomes a ring around you. The order you take them in shapes what you become.

Is it free? Yes. The entire base game is free and will stay free.

What do donations do? They go towards a computer with a GPU and more than 8 GB of RAM. Gilded Void is made on a machine without either. Donors will get cosmetic thank-yous in the future, never anything that affects power. For now, every bit of focus is on making the base game as good as it can be during the Beta.

What can I play it on? Gilded Void plays in your browser on desktop PC, and runs best in Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome or Edge. A mobile version is coming in the next few weeks.

What controls does it support? Keyboard and mouse, plus prototype gamepad support. Options › Controls lists every control.

How long is it? Each of the seven stages runs for 12 minutes, and the final battle at the Throne lasts as long as it takes. Every stage has a Hard Mode, and there's also Boss Rush and Rival Diagrams. A very skilled player could clear the whole game in around four hours, but Gilded Void is meant to be hard. Most players should expect at least twice that.

Where are my saves? Saves live in your browser on your own computer. Clearing your browser's site data will erase them, as will playing in a private or incognito window. To keep a backup, or to move to another computer or browser, use Export in Load Game to save your progress as a file, then Import it wherever you play next. Importing never overwrites an existing save.

What's next? The Beta is essentially feature complete. Most of it will go to polish, balance, and responding to your feedback, though new features and content may still appear if inspiration strikes on the road to 1.0. Meanwhile, work has begun on the first major content update, which will release free to celebrate reaching 1.0.

Will it come to Steam or Android? If there's demand, donations will go towards releases on Steam and Android.

How do I give feedback or report a bug? Leave a comment on this itch.io page. Every one is read, and a more robust feedback system is on the way. For bugs, these details help most:

  • Where: the stage and difficulty, and roughly how far into the run.
  • Your build: your Centroid, and the rings and passives you had.
  • What happened, and what you expected instead.
  • Your browser, for example Chrome or Edge.
  • A screenshot, if you can. The death card's "Ended by" line is useful for balance feedback.
  • For performance problems: your computer's rough specs. The game is built to run on modest machines.

Who made Gilded Void? A solo creator who made it for the pure love of making things. Two principles guided it: an aesthetic drawn from childhood nightmares, and low system requirements, since it was developed on a potato.

Was AI used? Yes. The entire project was made in collaboration with agentic AI tools. The AI supplies the grunt work; the creator supplies the ideas and the thousands of micro-decisions that add up to something resembling a game. Gilded Void is the result of months of creative energy poured through the constraints of extremely limited resources.
